Ignitor II and Ignitor III specifically state "DO NOT USE WITH SOLID CORE IGNITION WIRES"

I do not see a warning for the Ignitor (Ignitor I). I think I have original-style ignition wires on my engines with Pertronix 6v Ignitor modules (6v and 12v on 235/261 engines). They have been in use for at least 10 years. The 6v Ignitor (I) unit might have changed over the past 10+ years?

If you want to use a 6v (pos or neg ground) Ignitor (I) with solid core ignition wires, you might want to call Pertronix Customer Service.
