My only issue with the Pertronix ignition has been leaving the ignition on will literally fry the coil and the module. A spare set of points and condenser in the glove box will do you little good. You also need the original distributor insulator (and the special tool for installing it), distributor-to-coil wire, coil-to-ignition resistor wire ,(12 volt only), ignition resister, and coil. You will need a bigger glove box. Having said all this, with the Pertronix, my 235 did perform better than with points on my truck. I am currently running points. We need an HEI which looks exactly like the stock distributor.
