Temporary plate for mock up. holds every thing in place. Notice I made a mistake with where my mounting holes where supposed to be. But I am plating both sides . The bracket for the column and pedal is offset to the driver side, I forgot this when first marking the holes and centered it on the column. mistake. To compensate for the offset I mounted the bracket to passenger side with the wheel centered between gauges. It sits lower under the dash then I originally planned but I will not have to change the radius of the original dash.
The next picture is the Power steering box bolted through 1 of the original lever shock holes Ill show more details on this later. I was not camera man today , so I didnt not get all the shots I wanted.
The cutout in the inner fender was not necessary , I need to put a patch panel in there for rust repair.
I used the original spacers from the 87 chevy power steering box . I also connected the 1987 drag link to the original 87 pitman arm.
power steering boxOne thing I have learned from scavenging parts from cars/trucks , is take more than you need. Take every thing that comes with the system your working on. Doing motor swap, take everything wires/hoses still attached. My case I took everything for the braking system. Everything for steering. Everything for transmission shifting linkage. Somethings I wanted to take but couldn't. Like drive shafts. I was able to reuse so much. Granted I will have to rebuild a lot of parts, but at least they are stock parts , not buying new custom pieces.
Swapped the Dana 24 for my buddies NP205 today too. not installed just made the trade.
Note: NP205 I have has mechanical speedo.
