I guess there are a number of ways to wire up the Bosch relays. It shouldn't matter as long as they work and get results.
I have had success with the ignition power to 30 with a jumper over to 86, 87 connected to the #4 term on the solenoid, and 85 to the relay term on the KD switch.
As cletis stated, if you are not getting power through the relay to the solenoid, its not going to work.
