In worst case scenario I expect it could. I'll admit I'm sort of conflicted here. If you rotated the crank every time you torqued a rod and/or main cap and nothing felt funny, then I wouldn't expect the worst case scenario to have happened. I have not had a GMC 6 apart in a long time...probably somebody who has more current knowledge should answer. Did you replace the plugs in the block...particularly the oil galley plug?
