I have had work done by many heavy machine shops/auto shops.. I don't need to have done *ANYTHING* I pay people to do it for me if beyond my ability... you never jobbed something out?

If, in your 'professional' opinion you would not take the job fine, that's a statement of your limitations and abilities. But you are going to the illogical step of saying it CANNOT be done. That, is patently incorrect.
