Might just be this part of the country, but my local NAPA doesn't work that way; They need it to match something in the computer or have it be a part they are familiar with. The few times I have brought something in to have them match, no luck. Times are changing.
The other parts stores in my area are worse. NAPA is at least nice about it. I always try to find the oldest guy in the shop. Get lucky some times. Not always.
