1964 C 80 Tandem Dump

This is my 1964 C80 Chevrolet tandem dump truck. I bought this truck in 1967. It was spec'd with all the heavy options of that time -- 409 CID V8, 5 speed main, 3 speed auxiliary, 12,000 lbs front axle, 34,000 lbs rears, double frame power steering, straight air brakes, air operated radiator shutters, deluxe heater, air horns, front pull hooks.

This truck has worked hard through its life with very few problems.

The 409 was last rebuilt in 1980. It was replaced with a Goodwrench 427 in 1988. It is currently semi-retired and used for our property maintenance. Some day I hope to restore it.

It'd be interesting to know how many Chevrolet C80's were built in 1964. I would bet that there's not very many of them left. Thanks for posting.
