I am pleased to submit my entry into the Stove Bolts Gallery. I acquired this 1946 Model DS-3805 1-ton Chevrolet panel truck in December 2008 in Lula Georgia. I have traced back the history of the truck to 22 years in Georgia, 30 years in Oklahoma and 11 years in Kansas. It was originally a bread delivery truck in the Kansas area. Each of the owners for the last 30+ years did some of the restoration. The engine. which is a 1954 Chevy high pressure 235ci was rebuilt about 10 years ago. It is a very original truck having the original wood floors, insulated sides and still has the headliner in the rear panel part. After I acquired it I had the brakes redone, new seals & cylinders and the carb rebuilt. I also replaced the distributor. I replaced the third member "pumpkin", 5.14 ratio with a 4.10 ratio pumpkin from a 1968 Chevy 3/4 ton truck so I can reach freeway speeds. I located an optional passengers seat and it is being recovered now. The motor runs strong and it drives quite well for a 63 year old truck...got to love the noise that straight cut 4 speed makes! Thanks to many stove bolters far and wide for helping me find parts for this.....it was awesome! The tires, hubcaps and 17.5" 8-lug wheels are from a 1955 Chevy 1-ton. Going to replace them when I find an original correct set.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
