Bought new fenders and running boards for my 39 GMC. I have spent the last couple nights rough fitting them before paint.

running boards- good thickness but the mounts are 1" off. Im not sure if there is a difference between the chevy and the GMC though. My original boards have mounts 32 1/2" center to center and the glass boards are 33 1/2" center to center. Also it would have been nice to have a metal mount moulded in instead of just glass.

Fenders- Drivers side was great but the passenger side has a major void in the glass at the front of the fender. I didnt realize it untill I stuck my finger clear though while aligning the fender. It took 5 weeks to get the fenders so I think I will just repair the fender rather than send it back.

Truck looks good!!! I have a 55 and was thinking about getting glass fenders for it. What Co. did you go thru to get your freders?

I bought from R&R Fiberglass. Ive talked to them and were very apologetic. I left a message for the boss to call me. I dont want an exchange, it would take too long. But I still need to order rear fenders, maybe they will give me credit towards my rears.

I put a set front & rear 0n a 40 pickup from R&R. I was well pleased with them.

I think we still have the front ones. They are beat up & split but not rusted.

I've purchased fenders/runninng boards from R&R and have very good sucess with them. Good quality and holding up well. I feel sure Richard will do whats right. They are good folks.

Here's a set of 47-54 smooth running boards you can pick up from Jim Carter. These have steel inserts to bolt them down.

MN472...rest assured that if the fenders can be resurrected they do not get trashed. I am currently doing a resto for a fellow who has a guy that does "jam up" metal work but turn around time is a long wait. So, he is going with fiberglass in the short haul but will do the metal over time. His guy fixes the metal and not just gallons of bondo!!! But thanks for your input....as for MY case.... well, there wasn't one. I had to go glass!!!
