Hey,

I have purchased a new grille for my 1949 4400 Chev but they don't come with Vertical Grille Supports. Does any have a set that I can buy?

These parts are impossible to find in Australia.

Thanks

Shane

Was this one of the reproduction grilles available from Parts vendors ? If so, it won't fit your Big Bolt as is.

Thanks Peg. I didn't know JC had these available. Can you not use the verticals from your original grille, or did your truck not have a grille ? You'll definitely need the vertical supports from a big truck grille. they will be taller.

I have my 47 1.5 ton grille in bits right now. I bought that same grille set but bare steel. Its a bit rough but fixes up OK ready for chroming. The one I received is made in Argentina.
The bars on the big bolts are two inch high and on the smaller trucks, one and three quarter inch. I think the lengths are the same or close enough. I can measure anything you want if you need a cross check. In
I have the original grille here.
Also I recommend a grille fastener kit, they have a load of bespoke fasteners.
