That's really all that matters. As you probably already know you don't buy and trade big trucks to make money, you do it because it makes you happy. If the tires are all good and it runs and stops, plus has a clear title than $3500 could be a far price. The big money pit on these old trucks are tires ($1000+ for 6 tires) and brakes (about $1000 for all new parts with you installing). Looking forward to seeing pictures! Sounds like a pretty decent deal to me. These days it's getting hard to find one of these old gals that can move on her own for that price. And while I'm not a fan of "Ratting" anything that can be otherwise put back on the road, do it YOUR way. But...whatever else you do...put some pix up! | | | | | Joined: Jan 2014 Posts: 3 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2014 Posts: 3 | album of trucks here is the start of photobucket album I will get some more detailed this weekend Youll see the coe I traded as well thank you for all the warm replies going to do a few things to her over the weekend guna see if I can get some fresh plugs in her and take for a spin around the neighborhood try and assess the brake situation I know downfall already is she needs tires they are all kinds of dryrotted but all hold air please let me know what you guys think and by the way it has been convertec to 12v already thanks again for the warm welcome :chug | | | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 59 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 59 | I would restore it and save a piece of American automotive history. A guy here in Iowa wanted $3500 for one,and it doesn't run,and the hoist hardware is all missing. The right fender has a hole you can drop a basketball through. I think that being said, you did O.K. I drive mine quite often,(in fair weather),and do a different project during the Summer,as time/money permit. Take your time, and make sure you rebuild your brakes, and replace your tires first. This will insure that you'll have a safe and reliable "driver". The cosmetics will get there eventually. If you need help/advice,you came to the RIGHT place!
