Hello all,

I've been needing a truck for a while and I've decided on a 55-59 LCF. While I've been learning and looking around the internet I remembered that I have this picture of dad in front of the old peddling truck. My grandfather ran a general store and dad grew up in the store (they literally lived in the back). Twice a week they would drive the truck and peddle groceries all over the area. It's funny because I've run into many people my dad's age that don't remember my father, but they all remembered this truck because they said it was the only time they got candy. They had more than one over the years but I think this is the only one I have a picture of.
Peddling Truck

For me, I want something that is long enough to hault a car trailer but I don't want it to be full length. I wouldn't mind cutting one down to perhaps the size of a wrecker, but I haven't decided just yet and it will probably all just depend on what I find when I've finally saved up enough money.

Neat pic. Reminds me of a place in time I was at long ago.

Thanks for sharing. That pics reminds me of the times I tagged along with him peddling veggies..........and a nice 49 fleetline in the back ground, I think!

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Full o Pep was a popular feed owned by Quaker Oats and we hauled a bunch of it. Quaker sold to an independent company and Full o Pep feeds are still manufactured in Cuero and San
Antonio.

Chipmunk, when you say him I assumed you were talking about your father or grandfather used to run a peddling truck as well? If so, what kind of truck and what part of the US?

That's interesting to know about Full o Pep. I know very little from those days when the store was open. My grandfather died when my father was 18 so I never got to know him or any part of life back then.
