We finished up wiring our 53 today. Used the EZ wiring kit. Won't be long before we fire her up for the first time in 3 Years.

When I first finished wiring mine and started her up, I had to turn it off quickly when I realized I forgot to fill the radiator back up and saw my temp gauge rising too fast! HA!

Aside from that though, I made no mistakes!

Even worse if there is no water in the system, as the gauge won't register hot air.

Right. Mine was just *low* because I installed AC and had to drain some water.

We haven't fired up the engine yet. All electricals are working fine. Had a few problems getting the neutral safety switch to work. We just hit the starter enough to see if it would turn. Engine is a zz4 350 crate motor. It still needs to be broken in. My son and I cruised in the garage today. We put the bench seat in, connected the throttle cable, and tried out all the hookups that we could. Got about 4 inches of snow today, so we didn't attempt to start her up in our enclosed garage. Still have to put the hood on, but waiting to fire the 350 up first. I guess it was only a dream cruise today, but it won't be long now...
