I'm a member of a volunteer fire and rescue dept. We have a 1939 GMC firetruck that we have restored. The resto is an older one. "15 years" The ol girl is used in parades and when laying a fallen brother to rest..Recently we lost a member that absolutely loved HIS truck. Two years ago during a parade the truck lost all oil psi. I worked it over and resolved that issue. I'm trying to track any and all information on the truck. I found C22864439 stamped in the block behind the distributor. I can't find anything on it. I will try to post pictures soon.Where can I find the vin or any other numbers?

Chevrolet didn't start stamping the frame with serial numbers until 1955 second series, and then it was on the drivers side. Have you started on Big Mert yet? | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,189 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,189 | No not yet. I'm working on a 56 3100 pickup now and I have it in the paint/body shop . The goal is to have it done by May. Then the next truck to be done will be the 56 4400 Napco Fire Brush truck. Big Mert is after that, maybe... Mike B | | |
