need pictures of installing headliner in 51 suburban which bows go where and how thanks

You bought it dissembled -- bows were not labelled & numbered?

If you bought the cardboard headliner from one of the vendors be prepared to be disappointed because it probably won't fit. I ended up buying 2 of them just to have enough pieces to do the whole thing. I had to make paper patterns and custom cut the pieces to fit. Looks OK once I got it in. I had help from 2 other motorheads. Attempted to do it alone. Didn't work,not enough hands. Somewhere in Panels and burbs there are pics of my installation. I am not computer savvy enough to post a link for you and I never could master the very complicated search feature on this site. Good luck on your headliner.


Weeds

You start from the rear and work towards the front.

Here are some poor photos of installed panels in a 54/55 Suburban. Earlier Advance-Design years would be the same, except at the windshield.

You might want to seal the upper-side (and edges) of each panel (piece of cardboard) - epoxy primer or maybe a varnish.

You can find out where each bow goes by "dry fitting" them. Each piece will fit in only one of the locations.

From my panel truck, and suburban experiences,,Its easier and a lot less headaches to have an upholstery shop put a cloth headliner in.
I insulated it first, and they did a beautiful job on it.
Less than 500.00. including the extra material for me to make the side insert panels.
