I've been hording some very old pine tongue & groove wood for decades. I finally found a use for it.
I'm eventually going to redo the bed properly when I start on the body work but that time will be awhile off and the large holes in the original decking made hauling anything a trip.
Since I'm highly enjoying crusing this venerable old truck I might as well make it somewhat servicable.

.....hey, I like the bed the way it is. Different is sometimes good, and makes a nice conversation piece.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

I saw the other pics you posted. Nice work on the head. The truck looks mostly original except for the seat and came right off the farm. What are your plans for it?

Thanks, I thought about keeping it and show it off anytime I got around other classic auto owners but it feel victim to my annual shop cleanup for winter and it ended up at the metal dump.

Thanks. Since it came to me stock and complete, I'm going to keep it that way. I've added dual rear brake lights, turn signals and seat belts and I'll be adding a few more creature comforts like a sliding back window, a period correct AM/FM,a tach, front disc brakes, bodywork/repaint back to black, a front outside sun visor and some more chrome trim but otherwise i'm going to try to stay as close to stock as possible. Ultimately I'd like for it to look like it just drove off the show room floor.
I use it for my weekend runs and I really enjoy just crusing it around my back rural hyways & byways. It's smooth spot is around 40 mph. I've also got to build up some funds for the above named creature comforts so my immediate plans are just to keep it running & servicable grin

Nice looking BUT I would highly suggest NOT getting the floorJerry soaking wet as a floor without spaces between boards WILL swell up and Buckle BIG TIME!
