Door latch repair springs anybody know how to install these?

You pretty much un-pinch the slot that holds the spring and install the new spring. Re-pinch the slot once the new spring is in. Or mash it a little bit with a hammer and punch.

I dont think were talking about the same thing,these i believe go over the existing latch.,somehow? got them from jim carter parts.

As far as I know, they just slip over the latch.

I'd like to know more about the clips. The driver's door on my '54 3104 "double-clicks" but is still loose enough to rattle. Would be nice to find a simple fix so that I don't have to remove the latch and repair/replace.

I've tried adjusting the striker but it doesn't take out the rattle. Too little and it rattles more. Too much and the door will only close to the first click. (hope that I'm making sense)

Lonnie, There's an in/out and the up/down adjustment and I think the up /down can do a lot to help solidify things.
If you watch from the inside as it closes you'll see where the door striker can just 'land' on the strike plate. I found finding the stop point between one click and a rattle after I had the height 'just' supporting the door.

I adjusted on my passenger door many times and never got it to "lock shut" without "slamming" the door. Seemed nothing I did helped.
While placing and order I got me one of those slip over clips and when I put it on the door and shut it, wow, what a surprise. Man, it closes real good. I laughed at myself two or three times amazed how it worked. Bottom line is my latch was just worn to much to do the job no matter what I did.

For the money its a no brainer if you think it'll work. Order two just to have an extra to show your friend how good you are

Lonnie, you simply "snap" the clip over your existing catch. I think I did have t push the latch a little one way or the other but it fit right on there in about 15 seconds.
Hope you have as much success as I did.

....and I've heard a lot about the repop latches but not much of it was good from ANY latch? Maybe someone has had better luck lately??

Ive adjusted the latches alot not much success,trouble is replacement latches are do-do.

I'll ditto the repair clip. It pops rightover the worn OEM catch and makes it work like new.
