I adjusted on my passenger door many times and never got it to "lock shut" without "slamming" the door. Seemed nothing I did helped.
While placing and order I got me one of those slip over clips and when I put it on the door and shut it, wow, what a surprise. Man, it closes real good. I laughed at myself two or three times amazed how it worked. Bottom line is my latch was just worn to much to do the job no matter what I did.
For the money its a no brainer if you think it'll work. Order two just to have an extra to show your friend how good you are
