The distributor is missing a part.

This 1941 216 dist. is missing the bakelite plug at the base of the greasing mech.

Where can I find one?

Looks as if it would wear out because it rubs under spring tension against the distributor main shaft all the time.

I have looked on the parts web sites but none is listed.

My freind went to his stash spot and brought me back another distributor to rob the part out of, but it won't budge. So I am letting it soak in solvent and thought I would make a post just in case.

Isn't bakelite the same stuff that the cheap electrical boxes are made out of for wiring your house? It looks like the same brown stuff to me. If so, could you use that and a dreml to fabricate the piece you need?

641 I dont have one to look at, but I think you are correct. And that is an option I am looking into.

I was able to salvage the part needed from another distributor. Problem resolved. Thanks!
