Thanks

As fate would have it, they were backordered and took forever to get. (or, was that the crank bearing shells?). | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,383 Ex Hall Monitor | Ex Hall Monitor Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,383 | I got mine from Kanter who buys them from EGGE I found out when I opened the box.

I was gonna light a fire under his keester. And I see you can order them oversized in multiple sizes too on egge. So lots of options. Time to get my machine shop firing on all pistons...so to speak | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,112 | I think they are a newer style with thinner rings, at least mine were. I checked a set of six TRWs for a 261 once, and found less than one thousandt inch difference from biggest to smallest piston--not bad! | | | | Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 58 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 58 | A lot of machinests (old timers) will not bore a motor 'till he has the pistons on hand and will then bore each hole to suit a certain piston (at least the way they used to do it)--only exception I had seen was if you were ordering TRW pistons- the machinests trusted TRW's quality control enough to proceed without having them in hand. Yes, that is true about waiting to bore it out until he has the pistons. I would do the same...that's exactly why I wanted to source the pistons myself cause it seemed he was draggin his feet a bit. But he got em and it's underway. All good....I was just a bit anxious | | |
