Hello group,

I am two weeks into a new venture with my restoration life. I bought a 1949 Chevrolet 3100 truck that runs and drives. It needs body and interior work but I don't think it is that bad.

I would love to hear from anyone who may have suggestions on where I can look for parts, manuals, and any other information that may help with my restoration.

Thank you to all who are willing to help!

Hello Adam,

You already are at the best website on the internet for information to help with your '49 half ton. Check the links. I can personally recommend

American Classic Truck Parts
Jim Carters
Classic Parts
and
LMC Truck

That is for parts anyway. I have dealt with them all and have had nothing but great results with each. Some will even give you a discount if you are a Stovebolt member.

As far as information goes you can search the Stovebolt archives as most of the questions you will ask have probably already been answered. Or just pick the appropriate forum, ask your question and wait for a response. Lot's of good folks here. There is almost always someone willing and ready to share their knowledge.

Welcome to the "Bolt"

John

Hi Adam welcome, without this site, I would not have gotten my truck back together. So much knowledge here as well as links to get parts, made some good friends along the way as well. Take your time and enjoy the hobby.

Paiser, welcome to the STovebolt. Great bunch of guys and gals willing to share what they have and what they know. There is even a Big Bolt section where you can find a few fire trucks.

I actually looked at a '49 Saturday that I may be interested in. This is a disease and its time for another "fix" smile

Good luck, visit often and let us know how we can help.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
