I have a 66 chevy 60 2 ton dump truck and having problems finding brake parts. I posted another thread that may not have been approved as it may have seemed I was posting wanting parts. And I do, but have noticed some newer model parts will fit. I do not know of the compatibility between the heavy trucks. Others may and they may chime in soon. I have heard that the brake parts are hard to come by on the big trucks.

The shape of the metal part of the shoes look the same. The pad parts are the same size 15 x 5, will find out tomorrow when they come in. Found some wheel cylinders on a web site wrote the site address down, but later it came up as a differant site. Found a master cylinder the one on the fire wall. I've found that they can re-line just about anything and the cost was reasonable. Its just that its been a few short years since I had them done. A.G. Boone in Charlotte N.C. I like my little chevy, it purrs like a kitten. It has been a farm truck for a long time. The fella I got from used it on his farm, the brakes didn't work for him, he used the e-brake. The fella he got it from used it on his farm and used the e-brake. The clutch operates on a differant cylinder on the same master cylinder. It was begining to have problems disengageing. The new master cylinder has fixed that problem. So if all fails, guess I can continue the tradition. | | |
