My ammeter always points to "charging" but fluctuates up and down a bit. Today while waiting at a traffic light (low idle) with the left blinker on, I noticed the ammeter needle pulsating with the signal lights. The blinkers suck more amps than the generator puts out at idle. The ammeter probably shows a slight discharge at idle even with the turn signals off.
