Was was helping my daughter move the other day and on the back road to her new house ... a deer ran out in front of Ole Charlie. As you know, if you've been in similar situations, there's not much you can do. With a bit of a bang and a whump, the long-legged forest rat met a tragic and violent end at the "hands" of the fully loaded '49 1-ton.

Oh, incredibly, zero damage to Ole Charlie. smile Gotta love an AD truck smile

Hi Jock, and everyone. Daughter was driving in front of me in the Army-Surplus van and missed the whole thing. Yep, it was just me, Charlie and the deer. And now its just me and Charlie dance

I did think about stopping to grab it for lunch but the septic service guys right behind me did that smile

I hope those septic service guys field-dressed that deer (road-shoulder dressed)?. There nothing worse that improperly handled road kill.

It's good to know that you and the truck are OK, John

Thanks Tim. Around here, anyone who would stop for a dead deer generally knows what to do with it smile

Indeed! I think we make a pretty good hunter/killer team smile Nothing cooler than dressing a deer hanging from a tractor bucket with a chain saw and a sawzall ... chug
