Am converting to power steering on 1961 c10. Am using 1985 c10 power steering gear box from salvage yard. Am hooking up new hoses and cannot figure where high pressure and low pressure hoses go account the input fittings are same on the box. Thank all for the answer to this vexing question.

They may look the same but if it's the stock gear box, they are different.

'80 & newer gear boxes, have metric hose fittings, so make sure you have the corresponding pump, so you don't have to have special high/low hoses made. Also, the high pressure and low return line, have different size fittings, so they can not be switched.

Where the return line attaches to the pump nothing is needed but a small hose clamp. On the pressure side, there are adapters that screw in that allow early pumps on late boxes and vise versa.
