hey guys i just sold my 58 biscayne now i am on the look out for a truck,, is ther better years to look for? i was thinking 53 - 55, , what years had the brake booster down below and under the hood? ?.

No 53-55 Chevrolet light truck came from the factory with a brake booster as standard equipment or as an option/accessory.

Larger trucks (4100 series and above, 1.5 and 2 ton) had a hydro-vac "booster".

What size of truck are you interested in?

What series of truck do you like (based on style/appearance).

Do you want a mostly standard equipment truck, or do you plan to modify it (or plan to buy one that is already modified)?

Or, what features in a truck do you want (engine, drive-train, . . . , whatever).

Spend some time looking at pics in the gallery and see which ones you keep going back to look at. They are all good

Also, as you mention the '55s, keep in mind that there are 2 different trucks for '55. The First Series is essentially a carryover '54, with some improvements (open driveline), and since they were a short production body, can be hard to get some parts for. The '55 Second Series has the same body through '59, with some changes.
On that note, the Second Series '55s did have an option for power brakes, using the same Hydravac system as the larger trucks (optional 3000/4000, std on 5000/6000), though it is somewhat rare. I've only come across maybe 3 pickups with it.
