I called a local shop to see about a recore job and they said about $400 or more. Still running the stock fan blade so maybe the newer design would be better and maybe fabbing up a shroud would be the way to go.
Temp difference between top/bottom tank is about 15 deg. Likely that is ok for these trucks ?
Also planning to re-gear the dif to 3.55 so that should help too.

My bad...I shoulda said it has a 235 from a '56. Otherwise it's stock. I'm pretty suspicious that the rad. is in a bad way. Been looking into an alum replacement. I agree, the fan will be a band aid.

That 400 bucks would be better spent on the new radiator. A shroud for the stock fan will help a lot. BTW, it is not recommended to use both a pusher and puller fans. It sets up a vortex between the two fans to actually reduce air flow.
