It started right up, after we fabricated the fuel filter before the fuel pump and the fuel-pump to carburetor line, and the throttle rod (by my friend, Dave - he's got the golden hands), and the intake-base heat-plate tubes from the Fenton headers. Anyone who says a heated intake is not needed is deluding themselves. The aluminum two-barrel-carb to one-barrel-intake adapter was cold enough to condense moisture on the outside during the first few minutes of running. I'll be taking this apart to clean things up and to apply Calyx Manifold Dressing. After reassembly and connecting the choke/throttle cables, the air cleaner needs to be cleaned and painted. Found Mike, Tim, and the other GMC guys early on. Later ran into Mike Roach, rather he almost ran into us...
And Mike B, chatted with him for a while too.

There will always be next year.
Plenty of trucks so far but not full, nice weather so far might bring them in today and fill the place as usual.

I wish I was there soaking up the weekend with my brothers. The slow, mild spring with good amounts of rain, cool weather and sunshine is ... well, for a christmas tree farm, it's like adding a turbo, supercharger, nitrous and running methyl alcohol ... We are almost literally swamped in farm work. For us, it's frustrating that peak farm activity seems to coincide almost perfectly with peak truck activity ... Say hi to everyone for us -- you are the senior Stovebolt staff in attendence so I am sure you will execute those duties with your usual professionalism, savoir faire and elan. Oh, and knowing how much you like tools ... Please do not ask Mike Reese for my BT Punch ...  It's alright ... I'm sure I'll get it for myself one of these days V/R John

Awesome weekend!!! Campground was as beutiful as ever. Saw Mike Reese, The Griggs and Mike B. Sorry to scare ya'll, was'nt tryin to hit ya. They broke the record for most trucks ever. The weather was perfect and the grounds were a bit wet, but managable. There was a big variety of different trucks some new, some seen before. If you did'nt find a favorite truck, you were'nt looking. Billy, John, Cosmo, and Sweet, you missed another great show!!!!
