If so, lets pick a local car show and see if we can't make a regular Stovebolt
meet up. If there's already a local group in the area, let me know that too.

Thank you,

-Bill .

Bill, there are LOTS of Southern Bolters. I live in Spartanburg area and its a 1 1/2 hour drive to Columbia. I also have family there I could drop in to see!! Let me know what you decide.

Here is Spartanburg in 2010 and the gathering was held in conjunction with the yearly car show at Westgate just off I-26. This years date is this month May 25th.

This is 2011 here at my house.

If you look back in the Events or the "You Should Have Been There" Forums you will find our Southern events since 2008.

Columbia would be a nice cruise for us "upstate" guys and I know several around that area. Cvett, Lugnutz and a few others.

PM Sent.

Bill,
I live in Columbia. Would love to see some other Chevy trucks. They don't seem to show up at the local cruise-in very often.

I have a project 1965 C10 and a 66 C10 parts truck that keeps me in the back yard and outa trouble (most of the time).

Chris,
Nice 64 you have there. I'm thinking of painting mine the same color. I still have plenty of time to decide though.
Larry's62 is in Greer too. He just moved there. He's been posting here in the 60-66 section too lately.
I hope to have my 65 on the road late next summer. Your truck has rust in the same spots as mine. Gonna patch those panels on my cab this summer.

Bill, you listening?? There are a few more Southerners close by!
When you find a show or cruise-in let us know.

Chris, we can piggyback down that way like we did to Tenn. and maybe a few others can go with us as well. We'll see what Bill says.

Wow! This is an unexpected response. There is a car show in Columbia the second Saturday of each month, June 8th will be the next one. I believe spring through fall it's 5-9pm. We could get there early and claim a row if we knew how may were coming. I'll follow up with another post with the address and other info.

June 8th, 5-9pm (or earlier) Who's up for it?

All,
Below are the details for the June 8th Cruise In, in West Columbia. This can be a pretty big show at times. I've seen 100+ cars there in the spring and fall months.

2 nd Saturday THE CRUISE-IN at Woodberry Plaza on Hwy #1 in West Columbia, 5 pm till 9 pm( April-November)

I'll be more than happy to save some spots on June 8th for anyone interested.

-Bill

Bump...... Bill, I'm still on schedule to be there.

...and you can come up to Spartanburg tomorrow if you like. Exit 21B off I-26. You'll come out right at the clubs car show. 4-8pm

Bill (and everyone),
I think I'm correct in saying that people start showing up at the Cruise In around 3:30PM. It is very informal, but some people seem to have a favorite spot to park their classic, so they come early and claim it. You never know what will show up. I'll post some "teaser" pics from last year.

Chris, yes, I plan to go.
Jay, your right about folks getting there early. We had our annual big show this past Saturday and while the official time was 4:00 to 8:30 we had folks come in at 2pm. Set up their little tent and drag out the Pepsi's. We had over 150 registered plus club members cars which are not judged.

I don't know what I'll drive yet. The panel or the 37???
