I put the front bumper on tonight. I just need to install the hood latch, grill, and head lights. I was so excited I had to drive it down the block and back. I added a couple more pictures on my photobucket. I think I'm going to make the car show in Lincoln on Saturday and I will post more pictures of the final product. Thanks for everyone's help.

Tom

Tom,
Is the interior paint a silver color or is it "fawn"?

Thanks guys. It's DONE!!!!!!! 3-years, 4-months, and 10 days!!!! I'm on for the car show tomorrow. I'll post photobucket picture tomorrow or Sunday. I put about 30-miles on it today. Went for the county inspection for my plates and the deputy didn't even check lights or turn signals. He just wanted to know if I did the work myself and thought it was really cool.

Jay, the painter took the transmission cover into the paint shop and matched the color. It is definitely more silver than fawn but I love it.

The truck ran great! I've got to lower the idle and unfortunately the speedometer sticks. The odometer is still turning so I know it's not in the cable, bummer, I'll probably need to pull the thing out and look it over. The tach and vacuum gauge work great. The temp gauge is pegged on hot but I laser temped the engine and it's the sending unit or the gauge itself. After 30-miles if it were really hot it would have been puking radiator fluid out the over flow also. Overall it is everything I could have dreamed of. I'm so pumped to drive it more.

Nice. Jealous too, but in a good way. I'm slowly getting my inline 6 in shape. I'll use that Eastwood paint like you did. Thanks for sharing and keeping the rest of us motivated.

Thanks everyone! The car show was so much fun! I took second in the Stock Truck class. They had 220 vehicles in this car show. I think there were 9 trucks in my class. It was so much fun meeting people and talking to them. I was really surprised at how many stories I heard from people who's father or grandfather had a truck like mine. Several people regretted every getting rid of their old truck and I got one guy that wanted to know if I would sell it. SELL IT! It was only the second day I had it on the road. LOL!

The first page of my photobucket is new pictures of the final product.

There was a '54 Chevy with original Thriftmaster 235 next to me that I knew was going to to be hard to beat. He was a really nice 74-year old man and this was his second show with the truck. I was happy for him. You can see his truck in my photobucket.

It is so much fun driving around town. I've had people pull up next to me at stop lights and want to talk about the truck and even people that speed up to get next to me just to give me a thumbs up. It really does make ya feel good about the 3-years of time put into it. Every one wants to know what I'm going to do next. I tell them, "Drive it". Ha.

Thanks for the encouragement and tips and answers to questions. I told my wife it seems really weird not having anything left to do on the truck, but that's not really true is it? There's seat belts, maybe an 8-track player, I need to try to figure out the temperature gauge, and need to see why the speedometer is sticking.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Jay, the paint seems to be holding up great but there's only 50-miles or so on the engine plus the 30-minute cam break-in.

A beautiful truck! Congrats on your 1st trophy.

And I hope your bball backboard is anchored well. I'd hate to see that get blown over onto your ride. Ouch.
