The 3100 wheels in many Advance-Design years (47-55) were black, except for Suburban Carryall (which had body-colored wheels). Maybe someone has documentation specifically for 1951?
In 54/55, the standard-cab 3100 wheels were black, except for some of the deluxe and/or two-tone exterior options (which might have had body-colored wheels).
GMC wheel colors were often (always?) different from the body color for New Design years (47-55).

Mask off lines, a pinstripping tool or pinstriping tape?

You need at least 3 alcoholic drinks in you before your hand becomes steady enough to paint the stripes. I had forgotten about there also being a pinstripe on the cab beltline also..... I did 2 of my 15" rims by taping with masking tape after using a large compass to draw in lines for the pinstripes. They wasn't too bad, but I did have to go back and touch up a few places where the paint creaped back under the tape..... Biggest problem with taping is if the rim has some pits in the metal.... Thanks John

In Cosmo's photo the widths might look different due to downward curve in the center of the wheel (and a straight-on photo of the wheel)? | | |
