I'm trying to remove the wiring harness from my '66 cab so I can have the cab blasted. I can't figure out how to get it out; the firewall area specifically. How do you get the firewall penetrations to come out?

Thanks in advance!

Push the connector through to the engine side of the firewall. Then pull the rubber grommets into the cab side using a pair of needlenose pliers. Old grommets will probably self destruct, you can get new ones. Then pull the connector back through.

Thanks, Vaughn; That's how I thought they came out. How do you push them through? I used a broom handle and a hammer; they wouldn't budge.

The rubber has hardened to a point that it won't deflect anymore. The only solution is rip out pieces of it with the needlenose pliers until you can get the connector out. You can't heat them, it will melt the connectors.
