Looking at the Truck and Car Shop(Orange California) catalog and several parts are "manufactured by Counterpart". What does that mean and is there any feedback on their quality of parts and service. Thanks Doug

Counterparts is a distributor of many/most imported repro parts [not the "manufacturer"], their parts are generally acceptable and about all you can get for many items

Denny Graham had a good post a while back on the Truck Shop and Counterparts....and who owns what!! I've purchased from them but like most of us, over the years there are "some" parts I definitely won't order from certain vendors. And so it goes. Counterparts are probably about as good as it gets and if your on the left coast its probably the best way to go.

Lots of high post counts around here but not very well informed.

One in the same.... All owned by Ty Fromke of the Truck Shop

He also owns trucking businesses & real estate holdings but I tried to keep the topic limited to old car parts only.

well simple, if you'd been around awhile you'd know we've hashed this all out before .... it's pretty unfriendly to hop in with nothing but "not very well informed", inform us about your old Chevy trucks, I doubt anyone here much cares about how many businesses in your back yard Walter owns

Isn't this what "moderated" is supposed to filter?

Thanks for the link tclederman.
You appear to be one of the well informed ones around here.

Any talk about one dealer having better repop parts than the other is urban myth.

The big catalog sellers do not make their own parts.

There are only a few offshore factories that make old truck parts so, all the dealers are buying and selling the same cheap parts from the same place.

They only order & import them {from places like this} :

simple, it appears that you are the only one who's nattering about urban myths .... why exactly? trying to establish your cred? I believe I answered the original question about Counterparts above, most folks here are aware of the origin of the 'same cheap parts', are you aiming to offer better? that belongs in the swap Meet section

Thanks for all the info "new guy". Don't remember anyone asking a question but you though. Seems like you have an agenda or are answering your own questions? I still don't feel well informed but glad to help with your post counts. Mr. Lederman does have great knowledge and enormous patients. I don't think some of us will be taking your "bait" anymore.

I like the car and truck shop. Their prices are good and close by. I asked them about their connection with counterpart. They said it was their company.
