I am working on a 72 chevy truck and the turn signals work fine until you turn the head lights on, then the right side does not blink I also have the same problem with a chevy motorhome.

It is most likely a poor ground on the right front or right rear lamp assembly, especially if the parking/tailights share those assemblies.

One of the bulbs is bad, the turn element is shorted to the tail or park element... that happens...when you turn on the headlights then it lights the turn element, i bet if you check the turn lights with the headlights on...either the front or rear one is brighter than park or tail... and it will be that bulb.....

But you would both be wrong. With that scenario all of the parking lights and tail lights would flash when the lights weren't on when the right turn signal was enabled. Sometimes just changing the bulb will clean up the ground in that socket however.
