Anyone ever tried to put a 3rd row seat from a 2000-06 Tahoe in a 46 1/2 ton? Looks like the third row seat is self contained with and shoulder belts.

My truck is in storage for another 30 days and the seat for sale is 60 miles away...

To add to the question; looks like Tahoe and Suburban are different but both have integrated seatbelts..looking for info on both if anyone has ever looked at this option.

you may want to look at the chrysler conv front seats they have the seatbelt built in and are power they fit in my 36 real good

I have one in the basement, from a 03 sub, waiting on a transplant into my 39. We set it in there last week, Fit's like a glove. im going to make some mounts to use all the stock hardware on the seat so it will be an easy in/out.

I picked up my Suburban seat today. Light Gray leather with seatbelts. The seat was removed the day the truck was brought home from the dealer and never used. Not bad for $50.00.

sweet! let me know how ya mount it. If you think about snap a couple pics. I was thinking of getting some round bar and making mounts, then the seat would just "clip" onto it just like it does in the sub.

why not cut the mounting holes out of a suburban floor and use them

i think trying to mount the factory ones in there would be more work and look.....um less "clean"

more work yes. but the factory ones are recessed in the floor so when the seat is removed the floor is flat

Good score on the seat! My 1942 1.5 has a 3rd row GM also, It's only sitting in there now till I figure how I want to mount it. They are great, leather, very comfy too! Mike.

The truck floor has some shape to it for strength, and if it's like the AD models the seat riser welded to the floor is a big part of the strength too.

leaving as much of the original structure in place as possible is the better approach in my mind. If changing it be sure the new solution is sufficiently rigid.

Anyone have pictures and measurements of one installed in a truck? A late model AD seat is 53" wide I think, earlier are 52"..
I'm soon to buy, restore, or make a seat and want to consider one these as well, just looking at pictures on eBay they look promising..

Anyone that is curious; these seats measure 47 inches across the top and 48 inches across the cushion. They are straight without any bowing on the cushion sides.

My truck does not come out of storage for a few more weeks, so no thoughts on mounting yet. I am planning on relocating the tank so I will likely add something to keep the cab strength up.

I placed the third row seat from a F@rd Expedition in my 1/2 ton at one point (never mounted it) and it fit perfectly! Great width, great height, everything. Had seatbelts too. Unfortunately I never took any photos.

47" sounds a little narrow for the AD trucks where 52 and 53 was stock width, a trial fit would still be smart just to know for sure.

I got the sub seat as well and was wondering about mounting it. My gas tank now sits under the bed so the area under the seat has plenty of room. For anyone who has put one in, did you leave the original seat riser (gas tank surround) in place or take it out? The suburban mounting strikers (part # 15013755) and plates (15742356) are current parts available through GM (about $100) but it would still take a bit of fab work to make work. It’s not like I’ll need the quick detach feature as one would have in the cargo area of the sub. Once the seat is mounted I’m not sure I would ever have a reason to remove the seat in the future and if I did removing a few bolts doesn’t seem too bad. Any thoughts or suggestions?
