Anyone have a source they recommend for a paintable rear bumper? Truck had a diamond plate step bumper and I like to take it back to original. 1956 Stepside 3100

Best bet is going to be to look for a used one. Seems paintable bumpers, front or rear, are no longer available new, only chrome.

Did they stop reproducing painted bumpers?

I got my 1956 front and rear from Athey's in Front Royal, VA an few years ago. Bill handles Chevy/GMC parts from 47-72. He sells the same stuff all of the other vendors sell and he's close enough to me that I can pick the large parts up without paying for shipping.

Here's his web site...

He must have had some old stock. I tried to get a new bumper for my '55 a few years ago, needed a painted bumper. Only 1 place even had a listing for it, they couldn't get one as the supplier no longer produced them. Ended up getting a good used one from another supplier.

No picture offered here, but these folks seem to have a paintable (repro) rear stepside bumper for 55-59...
