THe original 216 (which had a bent rod) was 85 hp and the earlier 250 (mine is a 1967) puts out 155hp which is a nice upgrade but does not over power the truck using the stock tranny and rear end. id go with a 235 or a 261 like drewp said
there is a 55 235 in greyslake ill. and a 1959 impala 235 in wilminton right now
