i guess I had a 216 carb and manifold on my 235, so i put a 235 manifold on and my carb wont fit. a 62 impala 235 carb should be the same right?

Guess your saying the 216 carb doesn't fit on this manifold. You can make it fit by extending the mounting holes, use a saw or abrasive blade. I've seen lots of 216 carbs done this way but of course the actual 235 carb would be best.

I would guess the 216 would have a manual choke and the 235 Impala would have an automatic choke. You can probably still buy a kit at the local FLAPS to convert it to a manual choke.

So I got the impala carb and it doesn't have the vac advan on the base near the throttle shaft but there is a tube sticking out the side with a half inch of rubber hose. Is that where my vac advance line goes? Or onthe choke coil cover there is a pipe threading that looks simaler to the vac advan connection that's on my 216 Rochester b. the choke coil cover is metal I thought there were usually plastic . Lol I though it wouldent be a big diff. Now I'm wondering if I should elongate that one... Thanks for your help

What about useing the top of the 216 carb on the 235 carb. Change the main jet & power valve spring. Then you will have your manual choke.

You can hook it to that tube. It will probably give you full advance at idle but thats OK. The top part is all you will want to change.

That is for the automatic chock. There should be an outlet on the other side for the vacuum advance.

I have never seen a model B that did not have a vacuum advance port.
Can you post a pic of that side of the carb?
