Hello all , looks as if im not the only pne going to fit one piece side windows , mainly due to my outside window garnish simply rotting away, but also to try and keep the Burb a lot more weather tight . My question is does any one have a pictures of one already converted , and how do you finnish off the inside , with out the glass runners ,surely there will be a large gap between the glass and the interior trim. thanks in advance

1947-1955.1 suburbans have an outer window molding like the front doors.I'm assuming this is what he talking about.But I don't know what year of suburban he's working on.

I see one of his other posts said 51 Burb. So Tim answered my question about garnish. TF does not have that. Maybe there are enough in tips section, and you guys, for him to get going on it. In TF they have a "one piece" rubber glass gasket available for 55.2-66. Don't know if they have them for AD. Anyway that's what I used. There are so many bulk rubber shapes out there, probably there is one. Also to answer other questiuon: On TF there is an inside garnish/window frame trim and the rubber does fill the gap to that trim.

Hey sorry ,its a 51 GMC 100 with the same outside window garnish as the front doors , all of thease are pretty much rusted away , along with poor sealing sliding windows , a 1 piece window is the way to go , i just would like a look at some one who has allready removed the outer garnish and fitted a rubber seal to the window apperture .
IM sure i can find a suitable rubber in ther UK and getting glass cut is no problem .

Of course shipping to U.K. would be Gianormous!!. Like Tim says, get more info from him and see what the rubber, he said he has for the Kit, looks like. You could buy the rubber from him, But shipping is Gianormous!! My suggestion is to make a pattern for the glass and fit it in like it was glass (.250 thk chipboard or equiv) using the rubber. This will help you tweek the pattern. That's what I did. Installed the chip board using the rubber. The glass is usually .250 thick or 6,35 mm.

Many thanks for that i will drop him a line to see if he can help with some pictures , Using thinboard sounds like a good idea to enable a good glass fit , and yes shipping is expensive , but UK inport tax can be horrific !!! I will be sourcing everything from the UK
