Great stuff! Interesting to me as I've been involved in Sales & Marketing for so many years and educational as well. Thanks for posting it.

When I was a kid in the 50's, my family had the local Chevrolet dealership. We would get to go to the garage with dad once in awhile. One of the things we would do is sit and watch those training pictures. It brings back memories.

Brad,
Thanks for sharing this, this is great stuff. I find it amusing that they try to address issues from a marketing standpoint that might be weaknesses. For example, they point out that the left cowl vent makes ventipanes unneccessary, yet GM went to them in 1951. Or, they indicate the theoretical advantage of cast iron pistons, yet the later full pressure engines had aluminum pistons.

Thanks again,
Kent

Those old Jam Handy Filmstrips are packed with info. I've got a collection of them, along with a old film projector that I check out pretty often, out in my shop.

Spanky,
Have you thought about getting these films transferred to CD's ?or DVD's ? I think there would be a market for them.I know I would be interested in Info about the 3100 and the COE's.
Just a thought.

I did not know that Chevrolet still used a 36" frame when a 34" had become standard and still is. No wonder the old timers complained about "morphodite" Chevy frames. It also seems funny that they lauded their troublesome 2 speed and the planetary gears lasted the rest of the century.
