The signals work great until I turn on either the parking lamps or the lights. When I pull the light switch on, the signals switch off. What did I do wrong?

It sounds like the power is being shunted off the signal switch when the headlights are on; perhaps you selected the wrong tab on the headlight switch to tap the signals? If all else fails, you may want to run a dedicated hot lead off the ignition switch to isolate the turn signals.

I was running the signal wires to the smaller contact line. The lights were working but I couldn't tell because the other filament was drowning them out.
