At some point a PO swapped out the rear on my 54. Looks like they also modified the mounts. The rear looks much like the one on my 55.1. I put some pics online (link below) and was wondering if anyone can help ID it. There is a small tag screwed in on the drivers side and look like it has 139 stamped on it. Thanks as always.

Don't know about numbers on the tag.

Here is the location of the number on a 1954 rear axle.

Here is the number on the rear axle in my '54 3104. Looks like a previous owner replaced the '54 with one that was built at the Detroit plant on Dec 12, 1950.

Each model year has a different serial number designation. Find the number. I'm sure that we can decypher it.

Thanks Lonnie. I'll crawl back under tomorrow and see if I can locate the number.

The center section you have is from a 1955 2nd series through 1962.
Most likely a 3.9 ratio.
