| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 139 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 139 | At some point a PO swapped out the rear on my 54. Looks like they also modified the mounts. The rear looks much like the one on my 55.1. I put some pics online (link below) and was wondering if anyone can help ID it. There is a small tag screwed in on the drivers side and look like it has 139 stamped on it. Thanks as always. http://s1162.beta.photobucket.com/user/miami54hydramatic/library/rear%20end%20on%20the%2054 | | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 1,232 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 1,232 | Don't know about numbers on the tag. Here is the location of the number on a 1954 rear axle. > 1954 Shop Manual> 1954 Rear Axle Serial NumbersHere is the number on the rear axle in my '54 3104. Looks like a previous owner replaced the '54 with one that was built at the Detroit plant on Dec 12, 1950. > Rear axle in my '54 (H E1 212) > 1950 Rear Axle Serial NumbersEach model year has a different serial number designation. Find the number. I'm sure that we can decypher it.

Most likely a 3.9 ratio.
