Not getting proper oil pressure and no oil to the rocker arms. I just rebuilt this 1958 235 and i know the oil line was deleted in the lifter galley that year and instead ported straight through the head and through a special bolt. Out of all my head bolts that were in there originally, there was only one irregular one, with a grinded side to it. None with a hole. do you think this is my issue? do i need a head bolt with a hole? or do you think its something else? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | Originally a 1958 engine would not use a special drilled or grooved head bolt.
Did you make sure to use lifters with the annulus/reduced diameter half way up the OD?

It isn't a black science, you just have to make sure there is passages going from the pump to everywhere you want oil be. Depending on which version you have. I completely rearranged my oiling system in a 216 to get a full flow filter, and pressure to the rods. You just have to look at it a bit. | | |
