A few months ago I ran into a website that had these LED brake lights that fit into the bed hole. I thought that I had put it into my favorites, but it is not there and I can't remember who, what or where. Anybody know where I can get these????

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for. These are lights that fit in the pan roll gap on older trucks. Some add them as third brake lights. Check out:

I know American Classics makes replacement brake light bulbs that are LED. Look in the Stovebolt link section for more options.

The above Hot Lite'z link is right ... I put 'em on my truck and GLAD I did! Much safer driving, and it sure looks trick, eh?

Woogeroo -- Running the wires was pretty simple ... but first I had to get them to come UP the stake post from the tail lights down by the bumper.

First, I set the HotLitez in the bedroll holes. The wires come out the back of the HotLite and the bedroll is open along the body-line, so it was easy to bring the wires out and down to a hole I (luckily) had in the back side of the stake post (see photo below), allowing me to run the wires into the stake post and down to my tail lights.

After poking the wires through that hole, into the stake post, I tied a heavy nut on the end of a string and jiggled it down the stake post until it fell on the ground ... then I tied the ends of the HotLitez wires to it and pulled 'em down through the stake post and wired 'em into my tail lights.

To hide the wires (see photo below), I used some black 1/4" split loom:

PS - Woogeroo -- There were 3 wires ... I had NO CLUE which went where (except for the ground wire, of course), so I experimented before doing the final splices. It was obvious enough.

Yep; Believe it or not the Led lights will work on 6 volts and they are not substantially dimmer

What is that handle holding your tailgate closed?

It's a threaded "T-nut" ... the PO did that. It's better than having chains, eh?

I just twist 'em off and open the tail gate.

What supports the tailgate when open?

I've got (clear covered) 1/4-inch metal cables left and right. Works nice.
