Check the seat between the springs and foam for the build sheet. If it is still there it will have that info on it. Also check the glove box for the protection plan book and look at the very last page in the book and it should have that info. If you don't have either of these pieces of paper there really isn't any other way to tell where it was delivered to. Good luck and hopefully you have some of these papers as they are usually long gone.

Thanks a lot 66suburban I will check between the springs and foam the next chance I get. I have two more questions, what is the protection plan book? Could my drivers manual say where?
Thank
Devin

The protection plan book is the warranty booklet. It is separate from the drivers manual. The drivers manual is the same for all trucks. It has no specific info to any one truck. The warranty booklet is about 3x5 and has a metal tag on the back page with the info stamped into it. When you check for the build sheet check both the back and bottom of the seat. I have seen them in both places.

Ok I haven't been on the stove for awhile. So heres my update first I found the build sheet it was pretty much gone but I was able to find out that it came from the lake city Chevrolet dealer in seattle. Thank you 66suburban you made this week the best I am so happy. So it was made in janesville Wisconsin and was sold from lake city Chevrolet. Real quick did the trucks get hauled from the plant to the dealer by train or truck?

Congrats on finding that. Even if you only have pieces of the build sheet it is very cool to have. I don't know if it was trains or trucks.

I don't have any GM related evidence, from my experience watching new vehicle deliveries as a kid - trains were used to transport new vehicles across the country to a rail yard. After that, trucks with car hauling trailers delivered new vehicles from the freight yard to the dealers.

Up until the mid/late 60's many new cars were transported by rail on open cars, complete with wheel covers ready for delivery to the customer(s). Somebody finally wised up to the amount of theft going on. Wheel covers and other accessories moved to the trunk and the rail cars converted to perforated sides to further discourage thieves.

You were asking about rail delivery, and just last night I found this picture of a train with hundreds of new Chevy's on it. If I can figure out how to get it posted to my site, I'll do so and let you know it's there. I kept it just because I liked the picture.

That would be an awesome photo to see. I am lucky enough to be the 2nd owner of "Ginger", my 63 and have all the original paperwork, including the bill of sale.
