First, don't know how I never found this place before. Great to see some other burb owners out there.

I've got a chopped '55 that we did about 14 years ago. Was wondering if there are any others out there (I know i've seen a few attempted over the years, but never any that were actually finished).

We took 3" out of the windows, then 1.5" out of the crown in the roof.

Started this thing 17 years ago, it's been stuck in a garage back in Cali for the last few years (relocated to NC)...proud to say put 1,000 miles on it last month!!!

BTW, love your 51!

Wow! Not at all what I expected. The chop looks great. If you didn't know, you could never tell. Dig the flames too!

Yea, wanted to go for how I felt they should have left the factory. It's very subtle. The chop out of the roof is the biggest changer, takes that huge bulge out of the equation. We then laid the pillars slightly forward when we did the window chop. A LOT of work for the perfect look.

Very few people realize it's chopped unless they truly know what they are looking at.

...I like the chop. Its one of those deals where folks say "there is something different about it" but it takes a while for them to figure it out...if they ever do.
My friend did that to his 50 pickup and the first time I looked at it I did the same thing....."somethings different".

Nice job, hard work and patience paid off.

chubby chassis mustang II front clip

rear was notched a little bit with a 9" ford in the back. Did an autoleveling airbag system out of an old stationwagon (so when it leans it fills up one bag).

Plan on going to a full bag setup in the near future.

I got the truck for my 14th birthday, plan was just to put a motor in it and be done....well we did that and realized I still had 2 years till I could drive.....then things got a little out of hand wink

I didn't drive it until I was 22....then took a few years sorting things out and honestly letting it sit. Here we are 17 years later wink
