I am keeping the truck drum brakes all the way around to try to keep as original as possible. I upgraded because the original master cylinder is just too scary for me with all the money I have in this truck. Anyway the kit came with two 10 lb proportioning valves for the rear brakes. My question is how important our these valves? I know they are to reduce the pressure and I'm going to put them on, but I was just curious. You want one on the front drums & one on the rear. This keeps a small amount of pressure on the wheel cyls. to keep from drawing in air on retraction. Front discs can use a 2 lb. valve. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | | | | Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 127 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 127 | So it came with 10LB valves. Where do I put them? Is it okay to just put them somewhere in the brake line on the front and the rear or do they need to be closer to the master cylinder? Thanks

The same advice applies. Put one in the line to the front & one in the line to the rear. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though.
