For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 9 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 9 | I am in the beginning stages of planning what I want to do with my 38 pickup. I intend to make it into a custom and have been thinking about making it a dump truck just to be different. I would be making my own bed so I could keep it lighter, but I need some good pictures and dimensions to work from. Anyone able to help, I can't find much online.

It will show lots and lots of them. What did you use for the search criteria? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 1,966 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2000 Posts: 1,966 |

I assume these were probably manufactured by some other than GM and added later. I'm looking for detail on the bed in this link http://www.stovebolt.com/gallery/bison_jeff_1938.html . If all else fails, I guess I'll wing it.

This is the book that had pictures and descriptions of the equipment aftermarket suppliers could supply/install on your new truck, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | also note if you want a dumper, a good place to start would be to find all the hardware, including a PTO trans to run it, what you come up with for a pump and ram[s] will dictate some of the design

I will probably make the bed run off a hydraulic pump versus PTO. Probably never have any real load in it. mostly show.
